This week’s #teasertuesday is from Double Exposure.
“We’ll find him, Simon.” Anson placed his hand on Simon’s shoulder. “The council will act now that one of our own has been killed.”
Simon shook it off. They wouldn’t be so worried about a missing human. “I’ll find him,” he muttered.
No point in tracking Ben’s phone. It would be destroyed by now. But whoever was responsible had still overplayed their hand. There would be witnesses, and CCTV would have caught them somewhere. Everyone left a trail. He just needed to find its end and yank it tightly until they fell out.
“This is police business, and he’s one of ours,” Anson said firmly. “I know he’s your partner and you’re worried, but I assure you we’ll find him for you. We’ll keep in touch, okay?”
“I’m sure you will.” Simon reached behind his back, picked up one of the photographs from Daphne’s desk and slipped it into his coat pocket. If one of Ben’s abductors had touched it, Simon would trace them that way. He had resources at his disposal and intended to use them.
“Simon?” Anson moved at vampire speed to block the doorway before he could leave. “Don’t take this into your own hands. We want them alive, okay?”
Simon smiled thinly. “Oh, so do I.”
